FAQs
Isn’t coconut oil a seed oil?
Nope, coconut oil is actually not a seed oil! Coconut oil is derived from the fruit/flesh of the coconut itself, making it considered a fruit oil. Seed oils are generally highly processed with toxins such as bleach and deodorizers, and they’re full of PUFAS (polyunsaturated fatty acids) which can cause oxidative skin damage. The coconut oil we use here at Cracked Pepper Co. is always organic & unrefined, making it minimally processed and naturally nourishing for your skin.
Why do you only have one product?
We are currently a small team of 2 hand-making every balm. Since we are just starting out, we want to focus all our efforts into perfecting ‘the balm’ to ensure that it is the best skincare product we can deliver. That being said, the wheel are always turning, and we are already brainstorming new products to make when the time is right, so please let us know if there is anything in particular that you’d like to see!
What’s the consistency of the balm?
At room temperature, the balm is a solid, yet soft consistency. At cooler temperatures, the balm may harden. In this case, simply scoop out the balm and use your body temperature to melt.
Occasionally, particularly during the summer months, the balms may melt slightly due to higher temperatures. This may occur when being shipped via the delivery trucks, which are not often temperature regulated. This may cause the balm to melt; however, the efficacy of the balm will not be altered. Simply leave the balm right-side up at room temperature, or even place it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, for it to re-harden.
Are you open 7 days a week?
We currently do not process orders on the weekend; therefore, any orders made during the weekend will be processed that following Monday.
